Mercedes just released its sporty and dynamic CLA here in the states. As smaller version of a CLS-style ?four-door coupe? the CLA has been dominating the market with its stunning exterior and equally attractive price. Well it seems the Mercedes is upping the CLA game with a new ?Shooting Brake? five-door version. We have exclusive images of what appears to be a CLA Shooting Brake undergoing testing.
Not only is the camo-covered car out on public roads, Mercedes is testing its towing abilities. These spy shots show the car is wearing some heaving cladding to hide what looks to be some small front bumper changes, and of course, most of the rear end. The large wheels makes us want to believe that this model is an AMG unit, but seeing as the car is tow-testing, we would assume there is a diesel engine hiding under the bonnet. Likely the 168 horsepower unit from the Euro-spec CLA 220 CDI.
Obviously, the details on this machine are slim to be certain, but we at least now have rolling proof that Mercedes is preparing a long roof version of its stylish new four-door.
