Mercedes-AMG has a lot riding on the success of the GT sports car, especially considering Mercedes? plan to make it a multi-generational model. One way to keep the GT as fresh as possible is to give it optional packages like the Night Package we saw earlier this week. Turns out, it?s far from the only package Mercedes has in store for the GT. Shortly after announcing the Night Package, the German automaker also dropped details on two more optional packages: the Carbon Fiber Package and the Silver Chrome Package.
The two packages are of the aesthetic and aerodynamic variety so don?t get your hopes up of seeing any improvements made to the GT?s engine, but the carbon fiber and silver chrome kits do offer a level of personalization you wouldn?t be able to get on a standard GT.
The names of both kits are pretty self-explanatory, too. There are a lot of carbon fiber goodies on the Carbon Fiber Package and there are a lot of chrome details on the Silver Chrome Package.
Choosing a package for the GT does have a caveat. If, say, you opt to get the Carbon Fiber Package, you won?t be able to use the Silver Chrome Package or the Night Package, for that matter, on the car. The same principle applies if you get the Silver Chrome Package or the Night Package.These are being sold as complete packages, and at the moment Mercedes is not allowing for any mix-and-match shenanigans.
If you?re still cool with that setup, then you?re going to have a tough choice on your hands. Should you want the cheaper of the two packages, the Silver Chrome Package only costs ?1,130, which is about $1,500 based on current exchange rates. If money isn?t a problem, the Carbon Fiber Package will set you back ?4,700, which is close to $6,000 on current exchange rates.
