BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Individual Edition

BMW has never been a company to shy away from special edition cars, especially when it involves young markets like Japan and China. Japan recently received a handful of special edition models, including the 528i "30th Anniversary Edition" that was launched in October 2011 and the M5 Nighthawk Edition that arrived in July 2013. This time around, BMW is preparing a special edition model of its flagship 7 Series for the Japanese market.

The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Individual Edition is the model?s actual name and yes, it?s got enough personalized details to justify its ?Individual? designation. The changes are limited to the exterior and the interior of the car, there are no power or drivetrain changes.

That?s not to say that the ActiveHybrid 7 Individual Edition is lacking in any performance credentials thanks to a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery that produces a total output of 350 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. That?s enough output to cover 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds to go with a top speed of 155 mph.

The ActiveHybrid 7 Individual Edition is expected to hit Japanese dealerships in December 2014 with each model carrying a price tag of 13.1 million. That?s about $120,100 based on current exchange rates.
