Last Fifth-Generation Chevrolet Camaro Will Be Built On November 20


Not that there is anything to hate about the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, but if you?re not ready to see the current model fade away just yet, then there?s good news. Ahead of the new Camaro?s debut, it was reported that Chevrolet has said that it will continue building the 2015 Camaro until Friday, November 20th.

Chevrolet is in a unique position when it comes to Camaro production. Since the fifth-generation Camaro is built in Oshawa, Ontario and the sixth-gen will be produced at the Lansing Grand River assembly plant, this means that there will be no need to shut down the production line in order to retool for the new design. The rivalry between the Camaro and Mustang is as big on the track as it on the showroom, and the extended production of the 2015 model should allow the Camaro to maintain the sales edge it has had since 2010.

When the last 2015 Camaro is produced, it will mark the first time since 1992 that the Camaro was not built in Canada and the first time in the Camaro?s 48-year history that it will be built in Michigan. The Lansing Grand River plant also builds the Cadillac ATS and CTS, which share a platform with the 2016 Camaro.
