Ron Jackson's 1982 "Circle 11" Dirt Late Model

Here's a new project I've  been working on this week. Just something fairly quick to get some quick gratification. Nothing too detailed. Just trying to capture the look of the real car.

I got some great shots of Ron's car from a buddy of mine, Lee Johnson in Texas. Fred at Fred's Resin Workshop had hooked me up with his new Hanley Camaro body and I was ready to go. I started on the body mods first. I altered the nose by adding rudders to the sides, and adding the flaps over the vent holes. I also removed the A-pillars, filled in the fuel filler, and cut the slot for the rear spoiler.

Here's the real car I'm doing. I know Ron won the Miller 100 at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in '82, but I haven't found out if it was this same car or not. But anyway, this is the Dwayne's radiator Circle 11 he ran in '82. C.J. Rayburn chassis with a Prototype engine. I plan to use Fred's wheels and fuel cell as well.

Here's the body after a few hours of fiddling around....
