Released in 2004 on the same platform as the Elantra, the Hyundai Tucson gave the Korean brand a small crossover to place under its midsize Santa Fe. In 2010, the second-gen Tucson debuted with a sportier look, but that look quickly became dated, and sales fell dramatically by time the 2014 calendar year came to a close. In an attempt to revive the model, Hyundai has revealed a redesigned Tucson for the European market, and the American version is sure to follow for the 2016 model year.
This redesign puts the 2016 Tucson in line stylistically with the rest of Hyundai?s lineup. The new hexagonal grille and vertical slats are aimed more at a mature audience, while its pronounced body lines may still excite the younger crowd.
Is this redesign all the Tucson needs to catch stalwarts like the Ford Escape and Jeep Cherokee?
