Citroen Cactus Concept

After releasing arguably one of the most straight-forward press releases in the auto industry, Citroen bared its Frankfurt Auto Show plans and a big part of it will be the Cactus Concept, a car that we expect will be a big part of the French automaker’s plans in the years to come.

Of the little details that were unveiled by Citroen, the Cactus Concept appears to receive a bevy of new technology, including the highly advertised "Air Bump" bumpers. An indication of this technology seems to point to bumpers that absorb the kind of damage that would’ve messed up any other bumper. The accompanying video even does a demonstration, although how much help the phrase "touch me" does when you accidentally touch your own monitor is a little misleading — you feel even worse when you realize that your monitor is not a touchscreen...

Looking at the one teaser photo of the Cactus Concept, we have to admit to being pleasantly impressed with the small details on the front end. The slender LED headlights are a departure from present Citroen models, which is always a good thing when you’re determined to reinvent your styling language. The Air Bump technology is also visible and a peek of those stylish alloy wheels likewise point to a model that will get its fair share of publicity at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

We’re guessing that this is what Citroen was aiming for when it said that it was embracing a ?Pure, Simple, Smart" philosophy.
