IndyCar Series officials say they are sorry to lose Edmonton from the series calendar next year, following a disagreement over funding between the city and the event promoter. Octane Management signed a three-year deal to promote the event in 2009, but when the city refused to contribute funds to reconfigure the airfield track to allow one of the runways to remain operational during the event, the agreement collapsed.
